In this degree paper I was engaged in researching the manipulation of living organisms in painting. In order to define the concept of living painting, I devoted to concepts such as conceptual art, BioArt, environmental art, TransArt and intermedia art. I have also focused on a few artists who fall into the various aforementioned styles and have inspired me in reasearch and creation. As reference I chose Maja Smrekar, Anja Jerčič Jakob, Roberto Cuoghi and Alan Sonfist, because I can identify with their work in different aspects.
