[eng] The goal of this dissertation is the study and characterisation of high dose Carbon (C) implantation processes into Silicon (Si) and related materials for the synthesis of Silicon Carbide (SiC). The attainment of well-characterised multilayer structures useful to fabricate sensor and electronic devices based on them constitutes the main objective of this work. SiC constitutes a very promising semiconductor, thermally and chemically stable with excellent physical properties, which has started to be successfully applied in some of the most outstanding fields in electronics.
