EFEKTIVITAS KOMBINASI MYOFASCIAL RELEASE DENGAN KINESIO TAPING UNTUK PENURUNAN NYERI PADA LANSIA RESIKO KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS DI PUSKESMAS KENDAL KEREP KOTA MALANG

Background: Elderly is a time when person has entered the last life phase, therefore there is a problem in the physiological and psychological factors. The psychological problem is caused by degenerative, which means that there is an inability of body cells to regenerate Furthermore, one of psychological problem is arthritis or osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is the condition where the cartilage of joints is eroded, this condition is caused the occurrence of several problems, such as: pain, stiff joints, crepitus and the disruption of functional activity. Purpose: This research is aimed to identify the effectiveness of combination between myofascial release and kinesio taping towards pain reduction on elderly at risk of knee osteoarthritis in Puskesmas Kendal Kerep Malang City. Research Methodology: The kind of this research is qualitative research with quasi experimental design, while the approach in this research is using non-equivalent group design. In addition, this research was conducted in 12 meetings during 4 weeks. The sample in this research is members of posyandu lansia that involves 25 respondents by using purposive sampling in the sample collection technique. Then, the sample is divided into two intervention groups; group of kinesio taping control and group of myofascial release and kinesio taping case. Furthermore, the data is analyzed by using Shapiro-Wilk Test, Wilocoxon Test and Mann Whitney Test on SPSS application. Result: The data analysis shows that there is no significant influence on the combination between myofascial release and kinesio taping towards pain reduction on elderly at risk of knee osteoarthritis as it is proven by the probability value which is resulting sig 2 tailed 0.758
