PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK DAUN KELOR (Moringa oleifera lam.) TERHADAP KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN (Rattus Novergicus Strain Wistar) YANG DIBERI DIET RENDAH ZAT BESI (Fe)

Background: The prevalence of anemia worldwide approximately 29.4% - 42% and 50% cases of anaemia caused by iron deficiency. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam.) has potential as anti-anemia that can overcome iron deficiency anaemia because iron in moringa leaves 25 times higher than spinach leaves. Objective: To determine the effect of Moringa leaves extract on haemoglobin levels male white rats induced low dietary iron. Methods: Post test only control group design with 25 male white rats Strain-Wistar were divided into five groups: negative group, positive group, dose of 400 mg/bw/day, a dose of 800 mg/bw/day, dose 1600 mg/bw/day. Research conducted over 4 weeks, 1 week of adaptation and 3 weeks of treatment. All groups, except KN, given low iron dietary on day 8th. On 15th – 28th day, the extract groups were given Moringa leaves extract at doses 400 mg, 800 mg and 1600 mg/bw/day. Results: The result showed Kruskal-wallis test p>0,05 this show that there was no difference in hemoglobin levels on male white rats (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar) given a low-iron diet with Moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera lam.). Conclusion: In this study, the extract of Moringa leaves did not effect on the levels of haemoglobin significantly on low iron dietary rats
