PERANAN KEIRETSU NETWORK TERHADAP BISNIS OTOMOTIF JEPANG DI KAWASAN ASIA TENGGARA (Analisis Kajian Toyota TNC di Indonesia)

The dominance of Japanese automotive companies in the Southeast Asia region such as Indonesia raises a question related to the background that legitimizes its existence and hagemony in the international automotive trade. In line with this, found the role of transnational companies group or Transnational Corporation (TNC) such as Toyota which has the power and became a political actor in International Relations who initiated the idea of free trade throughout the world. Those companies group uses a strategy alliance ‘B2B’ that following the classical Japanese business philosophy called Keiretsu. Therefore, the Keiretsu network in the context of international business also enabling monopolistic practices that allows a non-Japanese company leaved Indonesia. From these, this research is aimed to describing the role of the Keiretsu Network in the Japan's automotive business industry in Southeast Asia with Indonesia and Toyota as the main focus of analysis. This research is using descriptive methods based on existing concepts/theories; the Strategy Alliance, Global Value Chains (GVC), and Mercantilism which related to the Japan in stemming the competitors from the US, European, even the New Institutional Economics (NIE) countries like India, China and South Korea. Otherwise, Japan is still the strongest player in the competition stage of transnational automotive trade
