STUDI PENGGUNAAN RISPERIDON PADA PASIEN SKIZOFRENIA (Penelitian Dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang)

Backgrounds: Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that can be identified with one’s inability to assess reality and suffering from poor self-understanding. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic which is mainly used in schizophrenia treatment and effective in treating both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Objectives: To find out risperidone’s pattern of use regarding the dosage, frequency, allotment route and extent of therapy given to schizophrenic patients in Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat mental health hospital Lawang. Methods: This study is observational and was done retrospectively to schizophrenic patients during October 2017 – December 2017. Findings and Conclusion: The use of single antipsychotic drug risperidone (2x2mg) p.o was mostly used by 6 outpatients (38%) and 5 inpatients (83%). Therapy of combination of 3 drugs (43%) was mostly used by the outpatients; antipsychotic risperidone (2x2mg) p.o + antipsychotic clozapine (1x25mg) p.o + anticholinergic trihexyphenidyl (2x2mg) p.o were used by 9 patients (11%). Therapy of combination of 2 drugs (43%) was mostly used by inpatients; antipsychotic risperidone (2x2mg) p.o + antipsychotic clozapine (1x25mg) p.o and antipsychotic risperidone (2x2mg) p.o + antianxiety lorazepam (1x25mg) p.o, each combination was used by 4 patients (25%). It was found that there were 32 switch patterns on outpatients and 6 switch patterns on inpatients
