POLITIK LUAR NEGERI INDONESIA DALAM MENGINISIASI PEMBENTUKAN ASEAN MARITIME FORUM (AMF)

Indonesia's vast territorial waters are vulnerable with the issue of a threat traditional and non-traditional threats, making Indonesia set up a forum in the field of maritime cooperation that is further discussed about the security issues, this is shown in Indonesia with initiating the establishment of the ASEAN Maritime Forum (AMF). To find out the reason, researchers used the concept of national interest according to Holsti which is; core values that are closely related to the short term, middle-range objectives and long-range goals, the concept of foreign policy and international regime theory. This research uses explanative research method through by library research techniques. Based on the research that has been done, the reason from Indonesia initiated the establishment of AMF with the classification of national interest according to protect the maritime sovereignty, utilization of marine resources as the refinement of the degree of economy and create stability security through formation of AMF. Thus, the AMF is a form of realization of Indonesian foreign policy in the form of a cooperation forum as well as Indonesia’s international regime in the political and security sector to assist in creating stability of the security of maritime territory
