PERAN SUBSTITUTIF PARA SUAMI TENAGA KERJA WANITA DALAM RUMAH TANGGA KELUARGA JAWA (Studi di Dusun Gading, Kecamatan Selopuro, Kabupaten Blitar)

Role is a dynamic aspect of position (status) while someone do their rights and duty as their position, so the person will play a role. Subtitute wife’s role to their husband made a husband should run a wife’s role in their daily life. Based on the explanation, the research purpose is finding out about substitute role played by female workers’ husband in running their household and children’s parenting. The research is qualitative by using primary data collection through observation, interview, and documentation. Research subject determination uses purposive sampling method. Research is analyzed using functional structural theory from Robert K. Merton. He suggests real function concept (manifest function) and hidden function (latent function). Research shows that substitute role run by education, children socialization, protection, feeling, religion, economy, recreative, biological role by husband. Female worker pushed by several factors, such as majority of people farming, economic factor and other people’s success. Function (manifest) of wives departure to female worker to get economic rate improvement. Effect caused is, role which supposed to be worked by wives, should be worked by husband.
