PENGEMBANGAN BUKU CERITA BERGAMBAR SEBAGAI SUMBER BACAAN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR KELAS V

The world of education is now encouraging the active role of educators to provide a more varied reading material and interest in reading students, one of them with picture books. Picture story books are considered to help the development and development of children, therefore it takes the development of picture books. The purpose of this research is to develop the product of a picture book book that is valid and interesting. Model of research and development of pictorial story book module in this research by adaptation Borg and Gall development model consist of 10 steps, that is (1) research and collecting, (2) planning, (3) early development of product draft, (4) test (5) revision of trial results, (8) field trials, (9) final product refinement, and (10) dissemination and distribution . The instruments used are questionnaires and field trial acquisition tests in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires (for teachers and students). Data analysis techniques used descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The result of the research shows that the material validation data analysis gets 64% percentage which belongs to decent category, media validation gets the percentage of 78% which belongs to the proper category, the teacher's test gets the percentage equal to 71% which belongs to the proper category, and the student test gets the percentage equal to 86% with very decent category. thus, it can be concluded that the picture book as a source of reading students is considered very effective as a reading material for students of grade V elementary school
