Background: Chronic hyperglycemia promotes oxidative stress which will decrease the total and function of β cell pancreas. The various compounds of cinnamon bark such as cinnamaldehyde, polyphenols, flavonoids are potentially prevent β cell pancreas from further damage and provide repairing effect. Objective: To know the effect of cinnamon bark extract (Cinnamomum burmannii) to the number of β cells pancreas male white rats strain wistar (Rattus norvegicus) diabetic model. Method: Experimental, post test only control group design. The sample were divided into four groups. Group I (positive control) were given alloxan only, group II, III, and IV were treated with alloxan and cinnamon bark extract at doses of 100, 200, 400 (mg/Kg body weight/day) for 14 days.
