ANALISIS DAYA SAING EKSPOR TUNA BEKU INDONESIA DI PASAR INTERNASIONAL

Tuna is a second largest export commodity of Indonesia after shrimp. Most tuna products are exported to several destination countries such as Japan, EU, and America. The overall export volume of tuna has increased every year but the export volume of frozen tuna has declined in the last 10 years. This study aims to analysis the competitiveness of frozen tuna exports of Indonesia and other countries, and to know the factors affecting competitiveness Indonesian frozen tuna export in the international market. The data used are secondary data from 2007-2016. The results from this study are analyzed using analysis of RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage) and path analysis. The results of the RCA analysis indicated that the competitiveness of Indonesian frozen tuna exports is strong in the four of main destination countries likes United States, Thailand, Australia and Viet Nam, but weak in the destination countries of Japan. The other exporter countries such as Malta, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, China, India, and Fiji has strong competitiveness which the average of index RCA is more than one (> 1). Based on the result of path analysis with simultaneous test show dollar exchange rate, price, inflation, and export volume variables significantly influence the export value of Indonesian frozen tuna in International market and the result with partial test, price and export volume variables influence to export value of frozen tuna, meanwhile dollar exchange rate and inflation variables do not influence on export value
