ANALISIS KEPEDULIAN TOKOH TERHADAP LINGKUNGAN ALAM DALAM NOVEL SUMUR MINYAK AIR MATAKARYA WINENDRA GUNAWAN MELALUI PENDEKATAN EKOKRITIK SASTRA

Human and environment are two component that cannot be separated each other. Human need natural environment to survive and environment need human to be preserved. However, lately the world is being confronted with the chaos of the natural environment that occurs both in mountains, seas, rivers, forests and some other places. It shows that human have not fully maintained and cared the nature. Concern for the environment that should have been inherent since the origin of humans is now increasingly eroded. The research questions of this research are (1) how the manifest of the characters awareness toward natural environment on Sumur Minyak Air Mata novel by Winendra Gunawan, (2) how the relation of the characters and environment on Sumur Minyak Air Mata novel by Winendra Gunawan. The method used in this Metode research is descriptive analysis method with ecocriticism approach. The data source in this research is Sumur Minyak Air Mata novel by Winendra Gunawan by noticing the data quotations such as phrases, sentences, and paragraphs related to this research. The obtained data were processed in some steps namely (1¬) data collection, (2) data simplification, (3) data presentation, dan (4) conclusion drawing. The result shows that (1) manifest of the characters awareness toward natural environment is showed through 4 attitudes, they are respect shown by the Nara characters, the moral responsibility attitude shown by Nanang and Nara characters, solidarity attitude shown by Nara, Nanang, Tegar and Wim characters, and the attitude of affection and concern for the natural environment is shown by Nara, Tegar and Wim characters. (2) Characters relations and the natural environment is demonstrated through understanding of determinism and posibilism. Understanding determinism is seen in the passive response of the characters in accepting the natural opportunity given by the Bardan characters, while posibilism is related to the active response raised by some characters such as Bu Ros, Binar, Nara and Weg Inei character in response to the opportunities given nature
