KERJA SAMA TIMOR LESTE DAN REPUBLIK RAKYAT TIONGKOK DALAM PENINGKATAN ALAT UTAMA SISTEM SENJATA (ALUTSISTA) PERTAHANAN MILITER TIMOR LESTE

Timor Leste as small state to needs cooperation with other countries one of them, is the People's Republic of Tiongkok (RRT). In 2008 Timor East and Tiongkok signed an agreement on the purchase of armaments to increase the military defense of East Timor (F-FDTL). This study aims to examine the cooperation of East Timor and Tiongkok in the field of military defense that began from the period 2008-2016. This research uses explanative method, and using foreign-policy strategy theory (Foreign-Policy Strategy Theory), using level analysis of nation-state. This study is a literature study and uses the type of deductive research. The research concludes that the cooperation between East Timor and Tiongkok in the field of military defense wants to create East Timorese military professionalism (F-FDTL), and also wants to create peace and security stability in Asia Pacific region. The cooperation of the two countries in the field of military defense becomes a new issue in the Asia Pacific region that is feared by Australia, Indonesia and the US. East Timor as a small state has the power of bargaining positions amidst conflict competing interests
