Calculations for ice accretion and shedding are presented for a model scale rotor in hover. The aerodynamic characteristics of the rotor are first computed using a combined blade element-momentum theory. The effective angles of attack, and the local flow velocity are used within the NASA Glenn solver LEWICE to estimate the collection efficiency. The computed convection efficiency and the surface pressure distribution from a panel method within LEWICE are used to estimate the ice accretion over the rotor blades over an elapsed time interval.
