Since it's inception, how have the requirements set out by Creative Scotland in it's funding policies affected venue programming?

This study pulls together a number of possible influences and investigates the patterns present in programming in Scottish venues and consequently the impact this has on those directly linked with the arts in Scotland. Also considered are the ways in which Creative Scotland may be able to assist in the further development of Scottish venues and their programming decisions by taking into account the findings of recent reports. In order to understand the funding policies and structures of Creative Scotland, analysis has been carried out on public and industry perceptions of the policies, structures and communication of Creative Scotland in comparison to the Scottish Arts Council equivalents where it is relevant to do so. Using sources that are publicly available from theatre companies, Creative Scotland, media articles and statements from industry professionals, this study attempts to map the shift in theatre since the inception of Creative Scotland and to give some indication as to the future of the arts landscape considering the changes that have been committed to as this study has developed.
