This research addresses an objective approach to analysing the drape behaviour of virtual shirts with varying eases at the chest area and two different lengths. A set of bodyscan data was utilised to identify body measurements of M-sized British men for the purpose of pattern drafting as well as for avatar morphing within 3D CAD systems. Two different sets of pattern pieces (each set comprising 31 pairs of front and back panels with varying ease from 0.0 to 15 cm at the chest area at an interval of 0.5 cm) of sleeve-less men’s shirt were drafted using a clothing CAD system.
