Valued Manager Through Belbin Team Roles

The aim of this study was to get acquainted with Belbin’s team role models and research how they can be utilized in management. As the theoretical background is the Belbin’s team role model, the theory consists of matters associated with choosing a suitable team, and also a suitable manager. The research was done for the Design Office Ilme with 5 participants, which comprises half of the office staff. There were 13 questions about the team role models, team managers role models and suitable managers methods. The research question was “How can the Belbin team role models be utilized in management”. The survey was qualitative with open ended questions. The results were coherent with the theory; the co-ordinator and the shaper were the most favoured role models for the team leader.Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoitus on perehtyä Belbinin tiimiroolimalleihin ja tutkia kuinka niitä voitaisiin hyödyntää johtamisessa. Pääasiallisena teoreettisena viitekehyksenä toimii Belbinin tiimiroolimalli. Teoria ohjaa valitsemaan sopivan tiimin ja sille sopivan johtajan. Tutkimuksen kohteena oli Mainostoimisto Ilme, missä viisi työntekijää vastasi kyselyyn. Tutkimuskysymyksenä oli ”Kuinka Belbinin tiimiroolimalleja voidaan hyödyntää johtamisessa”. Tutkimuksessa oli 13 kysymystä koskien omaa roolimallia ja tiimin johtajaksi sopivaa roolimallia sekä johtajalta toivottuja toimintamalleja. Kysely oli kvalitatiivinen ja sisälsi avoimia kysymyksiä.
