Seismometers must sometimes be buried in order to limit the impacts of external disturbances (temperature, wind, human activity). Several methods of installing permanent stations were studied on the prototype site of Clevilliers, such as the use of seismic wells at a depth of 3 metres. This site made it possible to carry out tests on instruments and devices as part of the construction of the French seismological and geodetic network Résif. It is part of the Résif-RLBP network (Permanent Broadband Network).
