The diagnosis of structures and the evaluation of their residual timelife is an important issue for civil engineering. The first concrete layer, the cover concrete, which protects the reinforcing steel from corrosion, is particularly subject to damage. Among the non-destructive testing methods, the study of mechanical waves has a high potential for determining the mechanical properties of the material.
