Epidémiologie des maladies cardiovasculaires en population générale rurale au Bénin : Cohorte Tanvè Health Study (TAHES)

Few cohorts have been conducted in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Its genetic and environmental diversity suggests the need of cohorts to better understanding the specificities of CVD and their risk factors (RF). Method: A pilot cohort was set up in 2015 in a rural setting of Benin. Data for RF were collected at inclusion during a door-to-door survey and events daily through dual health and community surveillances. Prevalence of lower extremity artery diseases (LEAD), electrocardiographic impact of high blood pressure and the social representations of CVD were also studied.
