Teoría de la mente y flexibilidad cognitiva. un estudio con participantes con autismo

Curs acadèmic: 2017/2018People with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) have difficulty in understanding tasks of ToM (Theory of Mind), as well as some of the EF (Executive Functions), especially in cognitive flexibility; there are still few wo rks in which the connection between both mental constructs is established, related to the psychological explanation of autism. In the present study we examined the group differences in tasks belonging to both cognitive domains in 20 Primary Education parti cipants between 7 and 12 years (average 9.7 months), 10 with diagnosis of ASD and 10 with TD (Typical Development) all of them with mental level within the average. The 20 participants who overcame the task of False Belief of the first order were matched t aking into account their age and IQ. The tasks of ToM included the resolution and explanation of tasks of False Belief of second order and three tasks of ironies; to evaluate the flexibility, the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test was used. The results show simil ar resolution between both groups of participants. The variables that are closest to the significance refer to the complete categories, to the perseverative errors and to the correct answers of the Wisconsin test. The correlational data are adjusted to the theoretical references in the participants of TD and are more misadjusted in the participants with ASD, not correlating the two TM tasks, but negatively relating the resolution of the irony and the errors of perseveration. However, this work has limitatio ns linked to the size of the sample, future research will be crucial to determine better the role of FE and TM in children with ASDLas personas con TEA (Trastorno del Espectro Autista) tienen dificultades en la comp rensión de tareas de TM (Teoría de la Mente), así como de algunas de las FE (Funciones Ejecutivas), especialmente, en la flexibilidad cognitiva; siendo - todavía - escasos los trabajos en los que se establece la vinculación entre ambos constructos mentales, r elacionados uno y otro a la explicación psicológica del autismo. En el presente estudio se examinaron las diferencias grupales en tareas pertenecientes de ambos dominios cognitivos en 20 participantes de Educación Primaria entre los 7 y los 12 años (media 9.7 meses), 10 con diagnóstico de TEA y 10 con DT (Desarrollo Típico) todos ellos con nivel mental dentro de la media. Los 20 participantes que superaron la tarea de Falsa Creencia de primer orden fueron emparejados teniendo en cuenta su edad y su CI. Las tareas de TM incluían la resolución y explicación de tareas de Falsa Creencia de segundo orden y tres tareas de ironías; para evaluar la flexibilidad se utilizó el Test de Clasificación de las Tarjetas de Wisconsin. Los resultados muestran resolución semej ante entre ambos grupos de participantes. Las variables que se encuentran más cercanas a la significación hacen referencia a las categorías completas, a los errores perseverativos y a las respuestas correctas del test de Wisconsin. Los datos correlacionale s se ajustan a las referencias teóricas en los participantes de DT y son más desajustados en los participantes con TEA no correlacionando entre si las dos tareas de TM, pero relacionando de forma negativa la resolución de la ironía y los errores de perseve ración. No obstante, este trabajo tiene limitaciones ligadas al tamaño de la muestra, futuras investigaciones serán cruciales pares determinar mejor el papel de las FE y de la TM en niños/as con TEA
