The aim of the study was to compare the effect of two rehabilitation programmes on the functional recovery after total knee arthroplasty.The subjects of the study were 39 patients after total knee replacement, who were divided into two groups. The rehabilitation programme for the subjects from the experimental group included: low frequency pulsed magnetic field, electrical stimulation and physical exercise programme. The subjects from the control group received only physical exercise programme. The results of the study proved that the complex rehabilitation programme applied in the experimental group was better as far as pain, oedema, range of motion, extensor lag and functional capacity were concerned.
