Symptomen en persoonlijkheidsproblemen voor, tijdens en na langdurige psychoanalytische behandelingen: een multiple-cohort studie

Contains fulltext : 90323.pdf (publisher's version ) (Closed access)Using a multiple cohort design, we compared symptoms and personality functioning (SCL-90, BDI-II, STAI, IIP-64, MMPI-2) of patients (N = 231) in different phases of long-term psychoanalytic treatment (before, during, end, follow-up). Our results confirmed findings from earlier meta-analyses that long-term psychoanalytic treatments achieve large effect sizes in reducing symptomatic distress (d = 1.19-1.27) and moderate effect sizes in reducing personality pathology (d = 0.52-0.79). To this we added that the significant reductions in personality problems were mainly in the interpersonal realm (introversion and social disadaptation), and that gender and age appeared to be predictors of treatment outcome.10 p
