Trechus (Trechus) schyberosiae sp. Nov. : ein Reliktendemit aus den Voralpen der nördlichen Schweiz (Coleoptera: Carabidae, Trechini)

Trechus (Trechus) schyberosiae sp. nov. from the Northwestern Alps of Switzerland is described and the new species is assigned to the group of Trechus pertyi Heer, 1837. The new species can reliably be separated by its male genitalia from the other Trechus species also occurring in the Northern Swiss Alps. The most similar species, however, appears to be T. longulus Daniel & Daniel, 1898 from Northeastern Italy and Slovenia. A brief discussion stresses the problem of persistence of restricted endemic species such as T. schyberosiae sp. nov. during the glacial periods
