At present chemistry is undergoing an interesting change from the traditional preparation and investigation of single molecules to the construction and use of more complex functionalized architectures. Especially the better understanding of biological processes and the demand to create new materials with specific properties lead to a development of novel nanostructured assemblies that are held together by reversible weak interactions, that include coordination and hydrogen bonds, van der Waals forces as well as p-p and electrostatic interactions.
