This thesis generally aims at the development of corrosion inhibitors based on a lamellar compound, namely zirconium orthophosphate (α-ZrP). The principle consists in that α-ZrP acts as micro-tanks in such a way to store species of several compounds known for their metallic corrosion inhibition properties. On the other hand, inhibitive species based on Ca2+, Mg2+, and Zn2+ were be able to be successfully incorporated within α-ZrP interlayer spaces via cationic exchange with labile H+ protons. Similarly, entities of the heptanoate anion were inserted via the prior intercalation of the cationic biopolymer chitosan.
