This research analyzes the neuroendocrine substrate of maternal behavior in mice, to try to understand the etiology of their possible alterations. Our goal is to comprehend why mothers show higher motivation towards offspring than virgin females. This hypothesis contemplates that the change induced by maternal hormones could sensitize mothers to pheromones of pups .
