MasterThe present study investigated heat behavior in continuous casting mold by using a small-scale casting simulator. One of very important parameter related to heat transfer phenomenon, local heat flux density, was examined under different casting conditions. The casting conditions focused in this study were superheating temperatures and cooling water flow rate through the mold wall. The tests were conducted with samples of different steel grades (carbon steel and high alloyed steel). The experiment results were analyzed and compared with those investigated in previous studies.
