The large grasshoppers subfamily Melanoplinae, tribe Dichroplini, which is wide distributed in America included the Neotropical genus Dichroplus Stål (Cigliano 2007; Carbonell et al. 2006). The distribution of this genus spans Argentina, Uruguay, some regions of Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, and south of Brazil (Colombo et al. 2005).
