We have assessed the changing burden of this disease, by means of a comprehensive description of trends in incidence, survival, and mortality. METHODS: Data on breast cancer patients diagnosed between 1975 and 2004 (n = 26,464) registered in the population-based Eindhoven Cancer Registry were investigated. RESULTS: Incidence for patients aged below 40 and 40-49 has increased by 2.1% and 2.4% annually, since 1995 (p = 0.08 and p = 0.001, respectively).
