The integration of additional intermittent and asynchronous generations such as wind is bringing in many challenges in dynamic operational security concerns of the modern grid. One such concern is low-frequency oscillatory instability of the power systems. The asynchronous generator based wind generation technologies may use the converter technologies as a generator/grid interface to convert varying frequency of the wind generators to the fixed frequency of the gird. As a result, this configuration will decouple them from the grid making wind generation inherently asynchronous and inertia-less.
