The crossflow ultrafiltration of bovine serum albumin (BSA) solutions is studied by experimental tests and corresponding transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. Experimental data collected includes total flux as a function of time, as well as final protein deposition dependant on feed volume flow, pH and protein concentration. A CFD solver is developed to simulate these data taking varying physical properties and fouling by a surface adsorption into account. The model equations and boundary conditions are documented and the physical property data available are reviewed and examined in detail.
