EBNA1 is an essential viral latent protein required for viral genome maintenance and transactivation of certain viral genes. In addition, it contributes to apoptosis resistance of the virally infected cell. EBNA1 has been shown to interact with multiple cellular proteins, including the RNA processing protein EBP2, the ubiquitin specific protease USP7, and the kinase CK2. With a view to therapeutic disruption, in order to fine map the contact residues between these proteins we have first used in silico molecular modelling to build upon known crystal structures. Secondly we have employed peptides arrays; a rapid method of determining protein contact points, particularly useful for proteins difficult to crystalise or purify
