The essay explores the involvement of the women at Bennett College for Women, one of two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that continues the mission of solely educating women, in the student-led sit in movement launched in Greensboro, North Carolina in February 1960. It examines the student participants in the movement, and the theories of organization that help to provide explanations for these protest activities
