The Yearbook has as objectives: To stimulate and feed the scientific and political debate on the Dutch international cooperation; To offer opportunities for puvblication for researchers in the field of international cooperation; To stimulate young researchers to undertake research on Dutch international cooperation and to publish on MA and PhD research. In the first part of the Yearbook, the 'Forum', articles are offered on humanitarian assistance, the co-financing of private aid-organisations, private aid organisations and the Tsunami and the history of Dutch development assistance. The last article in the 'Forum' part deals with the situation in Afghanistan and its effects on Dutch defence and development Policy. In the second part, called 'Articles', not only the country selection of Dutch development assistance is analysed, also the role that Good Governance plays in Dutch development is discussed. Other articles deal with the new aid agenda, disaster risk reduction and the discourse on development during colonialism. Lastly an overview of Dutch development cooperation in 2006 is presented.192 p
