La propuesta de este trabajo es presentar y discutir la importancia de los datos U-Pb en circones detríticos recientemente obtenidos por varios autores en la Formación Tordillo, con especial énfasis en las edades de circones más jóvenes provenientes del arco volcánico andino. Los valores U-Pb obtenidos en 12 muestras, distribuidas a lo largo del margen occidental de la cuenca Neuquina, arrojaron edades máximas de depositación entre 152 y 143 Ma (Tithoniano-Berriasiano).
