Entrepreneurial initiative selling process and the role of individuals within an established firm: towards a comprehensive process model

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Schumpeter and several authors proclaimed that entrepreneurship is increasingly becoming the mechanism for long-term economic sustainability and growth (Castaño, et al., 2015). Furthermore, entrepreneurship introduces a model for innovative thinking, reorganizing the established and creating the new across a broad range of settings and spaces (Steyaert & Katz, 2004). According to Schumpeter (1934), entrepreneurship involves the destruction or disruption of old models, products or methods of production while replacing them with new ones through ‘creative destruction.' Furthermore, Schumpeter (1934), Baumol (1986), and Audretsch (2006) confirmed that entrepreneurs are recognized as the agents, which create society’s wealth, and fosters economic growth
