The purpose of the present study was to develop a reliable and psychometrically sound French questionnaire related to the Expectancy-Value theory in physical education. Four stages were followed: (1) the development of a preliminary version based on the findings of a literature review on expectancy-value and a committee process validation; (2) a first study conducted on 354 secondary school students (Mage = 14.3, SD = 1.9) to establish the factor structure (exploratory factor analyses), and internal reliability (Cronbach’s alpha coefficients) of this questionnaire; (3) a second study based on 282 secondary school students (Mage = 14.9, SD = 1.9) to verify the factor structure and internal reliability of the questionnaire and to test its pre...
