The recently emerging 'digital' era has created many operational challenges for firms. Several previous studies emphasise that developing disruptive business models could be considered a suitable alternative to compete in the digital environments. Thus, this study examines key previous literature in disruptive business model and its related influential concepts. It attempts to devise a conceptual disruptive business model for digital businesses. The disruptive business model is devised through value-based and value-network perspectives.
