En esta nota se comunica el primer hallazgo del coral de piedra Desmophyllum dianthus (Esper 1794) (Cnidaria: Anthozoa: Scleractinida) en áreas de explotación de la vieira patagónica en el frente de talud del Mar Argentino. Este hallazgo representa, además, el primer registro de la especie en aguas de la plataforma continental argentina en 50 años y el de menor profundidad.In this note the first finding of stone coral Desmophyllum dianthus (Esper, 1794) (Cnidaria: Anthozoa: Scleractinia) in Patagonian scallop (Zygochlamys patagonica) fishing grounds in the shelf break front of the Argentine Sea is reported.
