The concept of resilience refers to the interactions between the ecological context and the individual’s capacity to adapt positively to adversity. We analyzed in a marginal context, the relationship between maternal resilience and family functioning to design and implement the intervention and to provide evidence to practice in special education. 76 volunteer mothers took part in this study. All mothers had a child with intellectual disability in a special education school. Two scales were applied to assess maternal resilience and familiar functioning.
