Background: Ameloblastoma has been one of the most controversial tumors in the maxillofacial field since it was first described by Broca, in 1868. Currently, ethiology, biological behavior and treatment of amelobralstoma depending on its localization and histological type are still unclear; mechanisms such as oncogenesis, cytodifferentiation, cell proliferation and apoptosis are not well known.
