The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of sports massage therapy (SMT) through the perceptions of users in a naturalistic setting and specifically to make a contribution to the literature of sport for persons with a disability by exploring its use by elite athletes with a disability in both competition and training. This research investigated the perceptions of members of a team who competed in an IPC Athletics international competition, using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, supported by competition treatment records.
