Enteritis is a very frequent cause of morbidity and mortality in young calves and pigs. They may be infected with 54 known pathogens, particularly in the first months of their life. Simultaneous infection with multiple pathogens occurs frequently and produces a synergistic effect in terms of the severity of clinical disease. In this study two microarray platforms (Agilent and Alere) were used to detect enteric pathogens.
