Developing critical thinking skills in the UK and the US : what can we learn from each other?

Critical thinking skills are essential for both academic achievement and future professional employment in both the UK and the US. University education should empower students to proactively participate in their studies and develop effective skills for lifelong learning. However, students need support to demonstrate a truly critical approach in their work, for attainment in assessment and employability success.
