Investigation of Finsler metrizability problems

A projektív metrizálhatósági vizsgálatok célja az olyan közönséges másodrendű differenciálegyenlet-⁠rendszerek leírása, melyek geodetikusai, mint ponthalmazok, megegyeznek egy Finsler- vagy Riemann-sokaság geodetikusaival. Rapcsák András adott szükséges és elegendő feltételeket a projektív Finsler-metrizálhatóságra egy másodrendű parciális differenciálegyenlet-⁠rendszer formájában. A disszertációban megvizsgáljuk ennek a rendszernek a formális integrálhatóságát Cartan-Kähler-elmélet segítségével, majd Lie-csoportokon és homogén tereken tanulmányozzuk az invariáns metrizálhatósági és projektív metrizálhatósági problémákat.We consider the projective metrizability problems: under what conditions the solutions of a given homogeneous system of second order differential equations coincide with the geodesics of a Fisnler (Riemann) metric, as oriented curves. András Rapcsák obtained necessary and sufficient conditions for the projective Finsler metrizability in terms of a system of second order partial differential equations. In my Thesis I investigate the formal integrability of this system using Cartan-Kähler theory. I also discuss the invariant metrizability and projective metrizability on Lie groups and homogeneous spaces.N
