Principles and case law of ICSID

ICSID is one of the five institutions that make up the World Bank Group. The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes is an autonomous international institution established under the Convention on Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States in 1966. The convention sets forth ICSID’s mandates, core functions and organization. The primary purpose of ICSID is to provide facilities for arbitration and conciliation of international investment disputes. The ICSID Convention is a multilateral treaty formulated by the Executive Directors of the World Bank to further the Bank’s objective of promoting international investment.
