Neuroendocrine tumors usually exhibit increased expression of somatostatin receptors (SSTR), enabling their detection through the specific binding of radiolabeled ligands, such as 99mTc-HYNIC-TOC (Tektrotyd).Combining SPECT with CT for the diagnosis, staging and follow of patients suspected to have NETs using 99mTc-Tektrotyd has provided improved specificity and diagnostic confidence helping to guide management and assess suitability for targeted radionuclide therapy.
