Grapevine trunk diseases (GTD) are amongst the most important diseases in vineyards worldwide. Very limited information is available about the occurrence of pathogens causing GTD in Hungarian wine regions overall and especially in Tokaj Wine Region nowadays. Diplodia seriata is the most common pathogen in the Tokaj Wine Region (Kovács et al, 2013).Currently there is no effective fungicide, which could be use against GTD pathogens, but previously used the sodium-arsenite for the treatment in Western-Europe, but it was banned, because it has carcinogenic and toxic effect on the environment.
