Acute myocardial infarction is a term that should be used in case of myocardial cell death in the clinical setting of myocardial ischemia. It results from blood perfusion imbalance between oxygen supply and demand of the myocardium. It is highly associated with risk factors of atherosclerosis and classically presents with left sided chest discomfort that radiates to the shoulder, neck and/or arm, it is not relieved by manipulation and typically lasts longer than 15 minutes. Today treatment is aimed at decreasing myocardial oxygen demand and/or increase the myocardial oxygen supply followed by long-term preventive therapy.egységes, osztatlanáltalános orvosango
